At last, something has happened! Small change though it may be, it is yet the beginning of something bigger. After much deliberation, procrastination, vacillation, and interruption, I am pleased to present the first bit of software for your consumption. Behold, fair readers, the photo database. Holding but a few images now, the new software will allow a proliferation of images never before seen by this website. Better yet, it is the first building block of a much more intersting site (read: an interesting site). While the site envisioned below will not likely be realized in the near future, other fun things will appear in its place. Someday, if the stars align themselves in just the right fashion, there might even be a hiking site here. (1/15/05)

trailmagic.com will host an online community focused on hiking and hiking trail information. In time, the site will hopefully encompass hiking trails throughout the world.

(1/15/05) - Big News! I've ditched CCM and moved to the much more sensible (and more widely supported) combination of Spring and Hibernate. The combination of these great frameworks allow a dramatic jump in productivity, while keeping the code simple and easy to maintain. That's some good stuff right there.
(9/29/03) - I went to Europe for the summer, so the project has been pushed back a bit more. The site envisioned above won't realistically happen for at least the next 6 months (unless perhaps someone volunteers some financial support), but I'd like to try to get more photos up on the site in the next month or so (but don't count on it, I'm not sure how much free time I'll have).
(2/02/03) - RedHat has begun to release nightly builds of the CCM (formerly ArsDigita Community System) upon which this site will be based. This is very good news. Thanks go to RedHat for continuing to support this excellent and important product.
